AI search still rewards useful, trusted content.
AI search prioritizes valuable and credible content, as emphasized by Lumara Holdings' innovative approach.

AI search changed the interface. It did not make substance optional.

As AI Overviews and AI Mode became more important, an entire market of “AEO” and “GEO” tactics emerged. Google’s 2026 guidance is more disciplined.

Google says the same foundational SEO practices remain relevant because its generative AI features are rooted in Search ranking and quality systems.

What Google says to prioritize

Unique, valuable, non-commodity content

A page should provide something beyond a generic summary: original expertise, first-hand experience, analysis, evidence, tools, frameworks or a useful point of view.

Clear technical structure

Google still needs to crawl, index and understand the page. Site architecture, internal linking, page titles, headings, accessible HTML and crawlability remain fundamental.

People-first usefulness

Content created at scale primarily to manipulate rankings can violate spam policies. AI can assist research and structure, but the published work still needs real value.

Real entities and accurate structured data

Organization and Article structured data can help search systems understand visible content when implemented correctly. Structured data is not a substitute for quality and does not guarantee a special result.

Strong media assets

Images and meaningful video can support discovery. For video content, Google provides separate guidance on crawlability and VideoObject markup.

What Google says you do not need

Google specifically says special AI text files such as llms.txt are not required for appearance in Google Search’s generative AI features. It also warns against inauthentic mentions and unsupported “GEO hacks.”

What this means for Lumara

The best AI-search strategy is to become a source worth citing.

That means:

  • publish decision-grade articles rather than short keyword fillers;

  • cite JETRO, IPA, METI and other primary sources where relevant;

  • clearly separate facts from Lumara analysis;

  • show real author and review information;

  • build strong internal links between Services, Blueprints and Insights;

  • update time-sensitive content;

  • publish genuine case studies as evidence becomes available;

  • localize English and Japanese pages properly rather than auto-translating low-value copies.

Lumara view

Do not write for an imaginary AI crawler. Write the best answer a serious buyer would be relieved to find — then make it technically easy for search systems to understand.
